PagePlus X5: Open Text (Swash) Help

How do I use the Swashes in the open text fly out?

When I select text in my publication the open text flyout is grayed out. I have chosen several different Open Type compatible fonts yet this feature never works.

There is nothing in the tutorials on this feature that I can find.
