PagePlus X7: Text doesn't look smooth

Just bought Pageplus X7. Looks like a good program.

But tell me, is it normal for the text you enter to not look smooth? I'm comparing this to, say, MS Word or Publisher. The Pageplus text looks like that in Framemaker... sort of rough, not smooth, slightly goofy letter spacing.

But when you make the PDF, it looks great.

Is there any way I can configure the program so that it looks better on screen during text entry? Am using it on a small 10" Acer netbook, 1024x600, Win 7 Starter...
