PagePlus X6: ms word documents

Hi guys, I have been sent a ms word document, *.doc file, I would like to open it using Page + X6 and convert it to a page + file, I have selected the document properties and selected page + to open the file but it failed to open,
is this possible? all help and advice appreciated.
