WebPlus X5: Page width expands in Internet Explorer

Hi,

I have some (very) basic and simple announcement web pages that I created in Kompozer years ago. When I originally created them, I set them to take up 90% of the window width, but later converted some of them to fixed width (e.g., 750px). Those Kompozer pages always worked well in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, shrinking as needed to fit the window space available.

As a prelude to redesigning all our web pages from scratch with WPX5, I tried building one of the old pages in WPX5 for practice. I set the page width at 750px, built the page, then did a preview in both FF and IE. The site works perfectly in FF, adjusting as necessary when I shrink the FF window, up until the window gets to be less than 750px, at which point I get a horizontal scroll bar.

The WPX5 page even looks great in FF on my Android phone, so no problems there.

However, when I load the WPX5 page in IE, instead of staying within a width of 750px, it swells up like a tick and expands to occupy almost the entire 24" monitor screen (1920px wide). If I shrink the window to less than about 88 percent of the screen width, IE gives me a horizontal scroll bar and part of my image is missing at the right side of the screen.

I know that various browsers will break certain web pages, but because of my limited experience with WPX5, I want to make sure that it really is a browser problem and not just a setting error on my part because I've missed something obvious. I'm using FF 22.0 and IE 10.0.9200.16635.

Any and all help in figuring out how to keep a 750px-wide page within 750px in IE will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Al
