Hi folks I was wondering if anyone could help me solve a particular problem I am having with Serif MoviePlus X5.
What I'm trying to do:
I'm trying to create YouTube gameplay videos using footage captured with Dxtory using the Lagarith Lossless Codec (YV12 mode) into .avi format.
Problem:
MoviePlus X5 was originally giving me an error stating that the codec was not compatible and the "find codec" button failed to find anything.
After that I enabled the "3rd Party Codecs" option and it now allows me to import without problem.
However my clips thumbnail images remain black and when I drag it into my timeline/storyboard it also remains black.
Audio codec used is PCM.
I did create a small clip (which I was going to use as my video intro) with MoviePlus which I exported as a .avi using the Lagarith Lossless codec which I can re-import and works fine.
MoviePlus identifies the codec as "Video/LAGS" and has chosen the AVI Decompressor to handle it. I have tried adding all the listed codecs to the trusted list but there has been no change.
I have been in touch with the support staff (who at the moment appear to have stopped replying) who also suggested enabled the "Use DirectShow for importing MPEG files" and "Use DirectShow for importing AVCHD files".
I have done this and it got the video working but no audio.
The problem seems to change quite often, sometimes I have video but no audio, other times I have no video but audio and right now I seem to have no video or audio appearing.
Also the DirectShow options keep turning off every time I close MoviePlus as apparently this is default since the last software patch.
I have since tried enable Proxy Files, but no change.
My Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
AMD Phenom II x4 965 OC to 3.4GHz
MSI GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr Lightening
6GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz DDr3 RAM (would be 8)
1TD SATA III HHD
I also use blender which works and my clips also work in Windows Movie Maker (shudders).
The clips play when I open them into MediaPlayer and VLC player.
If need be I can recording me trying to import videos and then upload that so you guys can visually see what's going on and I can also do screenshots.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be and how I can get these clips to work on MoviePlus?
I have un-installed MoviePlus, wiped all files and re-installed it but no improvement.
