PhotoPlus X6: Resolution

I see that the default resolution is set at 96. With images sized at 51.333 x 34.00 in. and pixels at 4928 x 3264. These readings come from a high resolution Nikon image.

Is there any way of adjusting this default setting? Why would I wish to print and image of that size? O.K. I can see the benefit of a low resolution for emailing and web pages.

Any advice would be welcomed.
