PhotoPlus X6: RAW (Canon .cr2) won't open

When I try to open a Canon .cr2 file, my Photoplus X6 hangs.

I use a Canon EOS 450D witch is supported by the software. jpeg's and other image files are ok.

I have seen a lot of screenshots of the import studio but I have never got it up. So is there a 'secret' way to open these kind of files?
