MoviePlus X6: Broken file paths after PC reformat

Hi all,

Been editing a video together using MP X6.

I reformatted my computer yesterday, had backed everything up and simply copied it onto the PC again once reformatted, so all the folder and file paths are the same as before.

However, opening the video project file up again in MP, all of the video and audio clip files are broken, and if you hover the cursor over the file, it says "No media streams found. Either this file type is not supported, or the file is damaged".

Even though the file paths are the same as before, as the current video files are essentially copies of the ones I was using before, I guess it isn't happy?

Is it possible to link up to the current files for each clip? Would really hate to have to start again...

WebPlus X6: Panel / Pop Up Question!

Hello,

I looked around trying to find an answer for this but couldn't.

What I am trying to do is have a pop up on my home page that only appears for each visitor on their first visit to the website.

If this is possible I'd love to know how to do it.

3D Planes

I just received my new purchase of Draw, Photo, Page, Web, and Movie this week.

As an axonometric illustrator from before the proliferation of desktop computing, DrawPlus's 3D Planes feature is near and dear to my heart. It should be a great competitive feature against other drawing programs. The basic interface scheme for it is tidy and intuitive.

Unfortunately, it's implementation is debilitatingly error-filled.

First, per the DrawPlus X6 Help:

"To aid drawing, you can use the snapping grid...the grid intelligently switches to the current plane that you're working on."

But it doesn't. The drawing tools do not snap to the displayed isometric grid intersections in the Front and Right planes and do not snap at all in the Top plane.

Second, the dimensioning of objects on the 3D plane is just wrong:
  1. With Projection Properties set to Isometric, and in No Projection mode, use the Quick Rectangle tool to draw a 3-inch square.
  2. Copy. Paste. Press Ctrl while selecting the Top Plane to send the square to that plane.
  3. Note the dimensions shown on the object when it is selected with the Pointer Tool and in the Transform palette.

Obviously, all four sides of an unrotated square drawn on an isometric plane are of equal length.

Moreover, as you can see from the rulers, the W and H dimensions shown in the Transform palette do not even make sense for the page rulers. The value shown for Width is the height of the path's bounds, and the value shown for Height is one half of the bounds width.



Other details need a more thoughtful treatment as well. For example, the planes are named Top, Front, and Right. By sensible convention, they should be either Top, Left, Right or Top, Front, Side.

A proper cleanup of this feature would not only correct glaring errors, but would give DrawPlus an important feature set cleanly integrated with the rest of the program and completely missing in most other drawing programs (Corel Designer being an exception). This is so close; it's tragic for it to fall fatally short due to easily-corrected errors like these.

Given that most of the problems are actual errors, corrections should rightly be issued as a bug fix update. Assuming DrawPlus X7 is near release, they should certainly be included in the new version.

WebPlus X6: Button Labels

Does anybody know why buttons i have created with a background\down\hover function will not work properly. By this i mean - when the button is live or tested it will only function if you do not click on the button label. In other words if for example you click on the button where the 'home' label is written, it will have no effect other than to go to the hover or down design but will not hyperlink to the designated page. However if you click the button outside of the label text its good to go. Fairly stumped on this one!

I can produce a website for a desktop or a mobile but I can't quite seem to marry them up as it says that you can do in the manual.

Home - Redirecting to: www.???? only if recognised mobile device.

Mobile - Redicting to: Home only if not recognised mobile device.

What's wrong?

WebPlus X6: Open Graph Support in Social Media Button Strip?

I am using the social media button strip in my website. Sharing via Facebook does not present the best thumbnail image with the share. I have placed Open Graph meta tags in the page header, but the button strip share to Facebook does not recognize the O.G. protocols.

Is there another way to customize what information and images are used in the Facebook shares via the button strip?

MoviePlus X5: C++ Runtime Errors!!!!!

I am having major issues with MoviePlus X5 - Again! My problem is that I am trying to edit a video and every time I come to export it I get a C++ Runtime error about 1 minute into the export and this seems to happen every single time.

The error reads...

Runtime Error!

Program: ...ram Files
(x86)\Serif\MoviePlus\X5\Program\MoviePlus.exe

abnormal program termination




I have no idea why this is happening because I have checked my computer's specs and they all meet the minimum requirements and also to help things a little I have given MoviePlus high priority over my CPU and turned all visual effects off and yet the error still appears.

I am trying to export the video into a .WMV file with a high render quality in 720p30.

I really don't know what to do to fix this and MoviePlus at the minute is really annoying me and to be quite truthful I think I've seen more runtime errors today from MoviePlus than I've ever seen in my entire life. I think so far today I have had 17 runtime errors and counting and at the minute I am really tempted to get other software because for me MoviePlus is just unusable.

MoviePlus X5: menu designer

I got my DVD ready for burn and went to Menu Designer and designed a whole menu with chapter/scenes and all. Then when I went back to burn the DVD two things happened, it showed buttons I didn't want and a third chapter which is not in the storyboard or anywhere on the dvd - only 2 BUT I decided to burn it anyway hoping it would come out the way I set it up - the DVD came out great nice and clear, but NOWHERE on the dvd was the nice menu I took time to set up. Any ideas? Also, since it saved the one I made with the errors how can I change it if I can get it to burn WITH the DVD

HTML pages in WPX6

Can anybody tell me the exact way in adding HTML pages from a foreign program (Flip PDF) to WPX6.
I've tried several times as described in the manuals chapter "Setting Up Sites and Pages", but I don't succeed.

PagePlus X7: Links Item Always Greyed Out

On my Edit menu, I have an item at the bottom called "Links..." but it always seems to be greyed out.

It's there in PPX6 too, and if I select the default Workspace in PPX7, so its not some legacy from the Web Design mode.

The document I am working on has some links, which are listed in the Hyperlink Manager, but even if I select a link, the Links item is still greyed out.

I could not find anything relevant in help.

Is this something to do with OLE perhaps?

WebPlus X5: Captcha query

I've designed some forms, all with captcha devices included. The problem is that on some of the forms it says that the letters were incorrect and to try again, but I know that they were not. I don't bother trying to test in preview any more because it never works in Outlook, so I test it 'live'.
Even though it told me to 'try again', I find that the original forms did come through to both my desktop and Blackberry ok.
I'm confused, so any suggestions as to what is happening?

DrawPlus X5: Registration Marks not working

Hey guys,

I have tried to get the registration marks to work ever since I've had drawplus, but I've never had any luck.

I am a screen printer so i need to color separate my art and i need the registration marks to line it all back up on the press.

As you can see by the screen shot it lets me select the registration marks, and it also lets me select what type of mark. But it never shows up in the preview, and the pages i have printed they have not been there either.

You can see by the layers dialog that i am adding my own registration marks on their own layers. But i would really like it if i could get this feature to work as it would save me loads of time if i didn't have to make them manually.

Hi there

I have been searching this great forum for answers but no luck, so now I ask you...
Do you know any function in Webplus x6, that makes it possible for costumers to upload pictures on a webplus webpage?
I edit pictures for customers in photoshop and I could really use a thing like that on my webpage.

Just a simple upload function, thats all im asking :)

Font at start up

For no apparent reason, when I start up X6 I get a pop up saying Times is not a stored font and do I want to substitute it. I have Times Roman in any case but whether I manually choose or let X6 choose, I get a whiteout for a while.

I haven't messed around fonts so not sure why I am suddenly getting this message.

Any ideas? Alternatively, does any know where fonts are stored on Windows XP & X6 so I can copy the set just to shut it up?

Kern betwen letters W and s

Hi,
I have problem with couple letters W and s in long text in Minion Pro font. Space beetwen W and s is too high. How to change for all Ws in the text.
Table of kern pairs are needed, or optical kern.
